well just to get this box took over a minute this am. i'm on calble not dsl , telephone, Videotron,ca, and it's super fast. but i guess someone's testing my patience.
i like the history lesson on bable------ but i was looking for the hot new bablylon risen.
anyway i'm off to look at some other threads, this is where i opened to.

David, I suspect it is your PC or your service provider that is the problem. I am on cable and it takes a matter of seconds for the 'submit' to work or for the pages to load.

Actually it's a connection + PHP issue. David, when you hit the submit button, the post still goes through even if you're just left sitting. So the next time it appears your post is taking a long time to actually post, open up the forum that your posting in in a new window, and then open up the topic you were posting in. Your post will probably already be there, even if the posting page is stalled.

I too have the same problems. it's usually between 7am to 11am CET (GMT+1)

The problems arise when they run the nightly backups of the messageboards.

Fake, it's probably that funky operating system you use! Try using a real operating system like MS Windows. Razz

I am on a laptop with XP pro right now, and it too has a problem before noon my time to connect with any site Adm,in hosts. I don't have a problem with any other sites.

This problem, per Nobby, is based on the daily backups made when you are sound asleep in the californian night Wink
