What bothers me is that according to posts in other forums that baby will be spending eternity in torment because it hadn't been "saved".

Van doesn't seem to be a bad guy but he gets radical when he gets on his soapbox. He seems a little blinded on this issue by the "being right" thought distortion. Then he brings up AIDS and child sexual abuse and goes in to blaming.

On another board there was a guy who said he had had the same attitudes and was upset to learn he had lesbian neighbors. After several years of grousing about who his neighbors were, at one point he had to speak to them about a matter of mutual concern (blandly, the trimming of a tree at their property line) and found them to be pleasant and himself to be more accepting. would that we all could have more experiences like that and benefit from it.
