Virtue is a subordination of the passions to the intellect. It is to act in accordance with your highest convictions. It does not consist in believing, but in doing. This is the sublime truth that the Infidels in all ages have uttered. They have handed the torch from one to the other through all the years that have fled. Upon the altar of Reason they have kept the sacred fire, and through the long midnight of faith they fed the divine flame.
Infidelity is liberty; all religion is slavery. In every creed man is the slave of God -- woman is the slave of man and the sweet children are the slaves of all.
We do not want creeds; we want knowledge -- we want happiness. _________________ Imortality: LIberty's final frontier |

Please, you really need to ... re-read the bible, focus on Galatians 2 and 3, and note, for the record, that," he who is set free is free indeed."
If you desire freedom, not just freedom during this earthly life but freedom during eternity, then I suggest that you re-consider the offer made to us by God, through Jesus Christ, and become keenly aware that so long as a person truly gives their life and soul away to God under the direction's of the new testament covenant, that person is as free as they can be.
As in Paul's account to Phileman to account the cost of Onesimus to himself so that Onesimus becomes free from charge for the ineffectiveness of his behavior or inability to perform as desired by Phileman, the freedom of Onesimus is established, and so is ours in Christ.
If you want to remain in bondage to a written law or the laws of a slave master after you meet Christ for your self, you can make that choice, but it is strongly advised by Paul in Galatians, and a hundred more places in NT text, to accept your freedom and become a willing participant active in the walk with God to be a light of freedom in a dark and slave ridden world.
Please don't include a true walk with God as a Christian in the citation you made, which includes christianity in the list of slaves who are in bondage to religion. Christians are free, no matter what you say or think, so I suggest that you re-read, re-think and get it right this time.
" He that is set free, is free," and the only way that you can lose that freedom, once you have received it from Christ, is to accept a temptation or invitation, from someone other than Christ, to return to slavery.
Religion implies slavery but Christ sets people free from slavery.

Belief in (poltergeist/ghost) evil robs a sentient being of intellect.
When you choose to cling to a historically heinous philosophy
long enough you must find ways to placate your choices. One way
to satisfy the mistakes made is to force everyone around you to agree
with you. (e.g. spare the rod/shepherds staff; spoil the child)
Dig deep enough into a serial killers behavior and you just may find
that their behavior is merely a reflection of how their young minds were
shocked by well meaning however misguided nurturers.
Luke:19:27
But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them,
bring hither, and slay them before me. _________________ Imortality: LIberty's final frontier |

No, someone has a gun to my head!
You "intellectual" types are a wonder. Why in the world do you even bother coming to a Christian - or any other religious - message board? What is the point except to have people pay attention to you as you stand on your soap box?
Okay, maybe Christians go to atheistic message boards and bother people there (which I do not condone)...you have to admit that it is really a severe lack of maturity that leads to such behavior.
So, why are you here? Are you looking for answers to questions? Are you trying to understand why we believe? Or do you just like the sound of your own keyboard clicking away?
I'm sure that everyone here is open to logical discussion, but your methods are completely inflammatory and illogical. |

You still haven't explained what you wish to accomplish here. I'm a stickler for wanting to know these things. It's nice to know what a person's motives and intentions are. |
