Some equate the Holydays as a shadow of grand future events. for instance, (Colossians 2:17)

I can see the Sabbath as a shadow of the GREAT REST or 1,000 years of peace after the resurrection (Rev 20:1-6). During the resurrection Satan is thrown into the abyss for 1,000 years. Biblically from Adam to today it has been almost 7,000 years. If 2 Peter 3:8 was to be taken literally, then that would mean mankind is within it's 6th day, and coming to a close. Wouldn't it be fitting for the great REST or Sabbath to be the literal 7th day (1,000 years of peace)?

Hebrews 4 talks about a REST remaining for YHWH's People. Is this the SABBATH or REST of 1,000 years?

Are there any other connections to the Holydays and futur events that anyone else knows about?

Robert G. Ingersoll
The Journal, New York, December 25, 1892.
**** ****

AGAIN we celebrate the victory of Light over Darkness, of the God of day over the hosts of night. Again Samson is victorious over Delilah, and Hercules triumphs once more over Omphale. In the embrace of Isis, Osiris rises from the dead, and the scowling Typhon is defeated once more. Again Apollo, with unerring aim, with his arrow from the quiver of light, destroys the serpent of shadow. This is the festival of Thor, of Baldur and of Prometheus. Again Buddha by a miracle escapes from the tyrant of Madura, Zoroaster foils the King, Bacchus laughs at the rage of Cadmus, and Chrishna eludes the tyrant.

This is the festival of the sun-god, and as such let its observance be universal.

This is the great day of the first religion, the mother of all religions -- the worship of the sun.

Sun worship is not only the first, but the most natural and most reasonable of all. And not only the most natural and the most reasonable, but by far the most poetic, the most beautiful.

The sun is the god of benefits, of growth, of life, of warmth, of happiness, of joy. The sun is the all-seeing, the all-pitying, the all-loving.

This bright God knew no hatred, no malice, never sought for revenge.

All evil qualities were in the breast of the God of darkness, of shadow, of night. And so I say again, this is the festival of Light. This is the anniversary of the triumph of the Sun over the hosts of Darkness.

Let us all hope for the triumph of Light -- of Right and Reason -- for the victory of Fact over Falsehood, of Science over Superstition.

And so hoping, let us celebrate the venerable festival of the Sun. --

There is an empty ... cave some where, with books inside but the person who spent too much time there has come out to disclose their personal position on every thing.

I wonder if Hitler had a cave?

When one focuses more on what he does not know... instead of what he does know... that is when he is led further astray by his own will. His own free will.

Hitler went to church carried a bible and professed to be a christian.
He even had insignias that reflected the same thing that your fish symbol represents.

It is for whomever has to ask. I am definately not in this for sarcastic commentary, but will dialog with reasonable individuals who understand the subject matter... and can stick to it.

Those of us who post on this Bible Discussion site are supposed to be into this author who you seem to find it necessary to quote. Fine, you like him, you have him as your idle, good for you. Why do you expect those of us who have no desire to read this person need to agree with you because of him. You don't have to believe in the Bible, expecially if it's just to hard for you to read and understand. I know the Bible is hard and apparently this person is closer to your mindset. He is of no value to me.

Please forgive us. We have addressed OBKB. The one who parades as a being from the "Star Wars" fantasy.

To your original post, I do believe that the 1000 years spoken of could represent the Lord's sabbath day of rest. If this obe kenobe character deters this thread's topic no longer, I'm sure you may get some interesting thoughts returned.

Very gently and softly I ask; have you ever wondered about the impact your signature has on other sentient beings in this world?

Why did you trot out the inference to a WW II failed leader?

HeKkLeR
You have an appropriate handle from what you dsiplay with your jargon.

The responding post that I made was about the original post's reference to 'shadow' and you all seemed to miss the point. The responses from my post indicate a mental blinding to the point of disoriented reaction. Why do some folk insist that a rational question of authority is a personal attack?

obgyn ... your vain editorial's deserve no further response.

You are so full of selfish idea's, your brain so full, truth cannot enter them to displace the feindish clog. You need a supernatural plummer. I'll call Him for you.

I need a believer to agree with me :

Lord Jesus, obkb needs your help, the kind of help that only you can provide. His stubborness has become rebellion and his ear's are plugged to truth, open them I pray, that he might face it and become your witness now, before he is lost forever.

You said," I would have it that none were lost, but that all should come to repentance," so ask that you hear me and my brother's and my sister's as we ask you to unstop his deaf ear's and break his rebellious heart. Then submit the truth to him, that he might be saved.

I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Truth in the Light.

Amen

The bible says that Jesus is the Word, and that Jesus is the beginning of the creation of God. So, the Word too, is the beginning of the creation of God, and the Truth, and the Light. I submit to YOU Jesus.
