Hi,

Quote:
Lets remember that no one can can claim to be innocent, were all sinners and no one can make it into heaven by just following the law,

But, the Bible doesn't say that. The Bible says that no sinner will enter the kingdom of Heaven.

Revelations 21:8, "But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death."

James 2:10, "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."

James 2:23, "And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God."

Judy
AND.....the Bible claims that Abraham kept God's commandments, (Genesis 26:5)........
26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.

can u define repentance for me please pt?
Psalms 51:1-10 is the perfect prayer of repentance.
This scripture is the perfect model of how salvation works !

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

51:2 Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

51:3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin [is] ever before me.

51:4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done [this] evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, [and] be clear when thou judgest.

51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.

51:6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden [part] thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

51:7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

51:8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; [that] the bones [which] thou hast broken may rejoice.

51:9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.

51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

2 Corinthians 13:5
5Examine yourselves to see whether you are in the faith; test yourselves. Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you—unless, of course, you fail the test?

1 John 2:3-6
3We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. 4The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: 6Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.

Galatians 5:19-21
19The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

2 Timothy 2:19
19Nevertheless, God's solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: "The Lord knows those who are his,"[a] and, "Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness."

John 14:21
21Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him."

1 John 5:3-4
3This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, 4for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

Matthew 7:21-23
21"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22Many will say to me on that day, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' 23Then I will tell them plainly, 'I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!'

Please do not ignore God's word because James 2:14-19 says:

14What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? 15Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. 16If one of you says to him, "Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed," but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? 17In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.
18But someone will say, "You have faith; I have deeds."
Show me your faith without deeds, and I will show you my faith by what I do.

19You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.

Better yet......Beg God, to show you where any sin may be hidding !

Because it takes just one sin, UNconfessed, to keep a person out of heaven !

Salvation is freedom from committing sinful practices, (1 John 3:9..."Whosever is born of God...does not...commit sin").

No One can have Salvation, while committing known sin !!!

So...the first priority is to learn what the Bible defines as sin ( this is information Satan does NOT want you to understand).

#1......Romans 3:20..."for by the law...is the knowledge of sin".

#2....Romans 7:7..."I had not known sin, but by the Law".

#3.....1 John 3:4..."Whosoever commits sin transgresses the Law, for sin is the transgression of the Law".

Now, from these 3 scriptures, we can see that the Law defines to us, what sin is.
What Law is it, that has been in force throughout the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation ?

It is the 10 commandments as found in Exodus 20:3-17.

Only the person who looks at God's Law....will be free from the committing of sin, thru the power of Jesus Christ working in the life of the Christian.

No man can keep the Law of God in their own strenght !
But God can provide a person with His power, to be in perfect obedience, to that Law.
WHY ?
Because the Bible says: 'Anything is possible with God'.
Do you believe that ?

Isaiah 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, [it is] because [there is] no light in them.
